DAY 01 - negambo

Negombo is situated in west coast of Sri Lanka. The wide sandy beaches and the safe sea are the main attractions of Negombo. And it’s in close proximity to the Bandaranaike International Airport. A boat trip winding through the lush mangroves down the Dutch Canal or Muthurajawela Marsh will reward you with sightings of monitor lizards and flocks of migrant birds.

DAY 02 - Wilpattu

Wilpattu National Park
The unique feature of this park is the existence of Natural lakes Natural, sand-rimmed water basins that fill with rainwater. Located in the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka. The park is located 30 km west Anuradhapura, approximately 180 km north of Colombo. The park is 1,317 square kilometers (131, 693 hectares) and ranges from 0 to 152 meters above sea level.

Wilpattu is among the top national parks world-renowned for its leopard population and there are approximately 30 species of mammals in the Wilpattu National Park which include the Sri Lankan Elephant, Lankan Sloth Bear, Sri, Spotted Deer, Buffalo, Sambar and Mongoose.

The lakes contain rainwater, important for resident and migratory water-birds and many wetland bird species found in the Wilpattu National Park and the park is also home for many Reptiles and Amphibians.

DAY 03 - Minneriya Habarana

Minneriya National Park
Being part of the elephant corridor, which joins up with Kaudulla and Wasgomuwa parks, Mineriya National Park gives the opportunity to see herds of Elephants throughout the year it is the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world. During this period herds up to 300 elephants are seen at the 8,890-hectare park. In the afternoon jeep safari through National Park people can also see, deer, peacocks, boars, and many kinds of birds other than Elephants.

DAY 04 - Udawatta Forest Kandy

Udawatta Forest
Udawatta Kele Sanctuary or the Royal Forest Park of Kandy is situated on the hillside behind the Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Tooth Relic. This forest extents about 257 acres and is considered to be a vital Bio reserve the forest is rich with vegetation consisting with canopy, sub canopy and an underground layer. The dense plant life restricts sunlight reaching the ground soil surface. The underground layer mostly consists of the seedlings of the canopy layer species and creepers that reach to the top of canopy layer trees.

DAY 05 - HORTON PLAINS

Horton Plains
Horton Plains is the coldest and windiest location in the country. At an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level and spreads across over 3,169 hectares of the highest tableland this as declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010.

Horton Plains, its surroundings, forests and the adjoining Peak Wilderness constitute Sri Lanka’s most important catchment area of almost all major rivers. The plains are also of outstanding scenic beauty and conservation importance, containing most of the habitats and endemic plants and animals representative of the country’s wet and Montane zones.

Horton Plains is spread over the southern ridge of the central highlands in between Nuwara Eliya and Haputale. On the southern edge of the Horton Plains at an altitude of 2140m is famous World’s End, an escarpment that fall sheer 900 meters.

The most frequent site of wildlife at Horton Plains are herds of Sambar Deer. Among the other mammals in the park are Strip-necked Mongoose, Long-tailed Giant Squirrel Wild Boar, the endemic Bear Monkey and Toque Monkey, Fishing cat, and Others.

DAY 06 - UDAWALAWA

Udawalawe National Park
The national park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, The reserve covers 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq mi)  and lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, in Sri Lanka

Udawalawe is an important habitat for Sri Lankan elephants, which are relatively hard to see in its open habitats with a herd of about 250 believed to be permanently resident and the park is also a good birdwatching site to endemic and rare migrants.

The Species recorded from the park include 94 plants, 21 fish, 12 amphibians, 33 reptiles, 184 birds (33 of which are migratory), and 43 mammals. Additionally, 135 species of butterflies are among the invertebrates found in Udawalawe.

This is a popular tourist destination and the third most visited park in the country

Yala National Park
Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and UVA Province. The park covers 979 square kilometers (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometers (190 mi) from Colombo.The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds. Yala harbors 215 bird species including six endemic species of Sri Lanka. The number of mammals that has been recorded from the park is 44, and it has one of the highest leopard densities in the world.

Mirissa
Situated 151km from Colombo, Mirissa is one of the main beach destinations in southern Sri Lanka. Mirissa is a perfect place to soak up sun for a day or two and its one of the best places in the world to spot blue whales.

DAY 10 - Mirissa

Early start in Mirissa you will be taken to Mirissa harbor at 6.00 Am for Boat Trip to observe whales and dolphins in their natural habitat these coastlines are known for some of the best locations globally for whale watching on their migratory path from the Horn of Africa to the Bay of Bengal. During the whale migration season it’s easy to spot Blue whales, Bryde´s whales, Sperm whales, Fin whales, sometimes Killer whales, and Common dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, Spinner dolphins, Risso’s dolphins and striped dolphins you may Sometimes can see turtles and various fish species

DAY 11 - Sinharaja

Sinharaja Forest Reserve
Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a national park and a biodiversity hotspot Located within Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces of the south-west lowland wet zone of Sri Lanka. The total area of the Sinharaja Forest Reserve is 18,900 acres or 7,648 hectares and ranges in altitude from 300m to 1,170m.

It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This is the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. More than 60% of the trees are endemic and many of them are considered rare. This treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.

The hilly virgin rainforest, part of the Sri Lanka lowland rain forests eco region and was saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility, this was designated as World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988.
