DAY 01 - Negambo

Negombo is situated in west coast of Sri Lanka. The wide sandy beaches and the safe sea are the main attractions of Negombo. And it’s in close proximity to the Bandaranaike International Airport. A boat trip winding through the lush mangroves down the Dutch Canal or Muthurajawela Marsh will reward you with sightings of monitor lizards and flocks of migrant birds

DAY 02 - habarana

Munishwaram Temple
This is an important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been in existence at least since 1000 CE. The temple is one of the ancient Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Shiva in the region. Munishwaram means the first temple for Shiva (Munnu + Easwaran). It is believed that the Shiva Lingam was already here when Lord Rama visited this place. The temple complex is a collection of five temples, including a Buddhist temple. The central temple dedicated to Shiva (Siva) is the most prestigious and biggest, and is popular amongst Hindus. The main festivals celebrated at the temple include Navarathri and Sivarathri. The former is a nine-day long festival in honour of the presiding Goddess, while the latter is an overnight observation in honour of Lord Shiva. In addition to these two Hindu festivals, the temple has a festival of its own, the Munneswaram festival, a four-week-long event attended by Hindus and Buddhists.

Manavari Temple
Manavari Kovil is a Hindu temple 9 kms north of Chilaw significant for Hindu pilgrims from India who travel along the Ramayana trail to visit places connected to Lord Rama. Manavari is the first place where Lord Rama installed a Lingam, as a remedy to Lord Shiva after committing Brahmincide by killing the King Ravana who was a Brahmin. This Shiva Lingam in Manavari is called Ramalingam because it was made by Lord Rama. There are only two Lingams in the world named after Lord Rama, the other is in Rameswaram in India.

DAY 03 - TRINCOMALEE

Koneswaram temple
Koneswaram temple of Trincomalee also known as the Thirukonamamalai Konesar Kovil, the Temple of the Thousand Pillars is a Hindu temple in Trincomalee, Eastern Province is an icon of Sri Lankan heritage. Once a multi-columned structure, the temple was in some measure, destroyed during the Portuguese period. The temple that we see today was built in the 1950s, striving to return to its former glory. The temple holds a towering statue of Lord Shiva, the sacred Nuga tree dedicated to Lord Shiva and obvious remains of the original temple. The exact origins and creator of the temple remains a mystery, but it is said to be over 3,000 years old.

Shankari Temple

The famed SHANKARI Temple, in Sri Lanka, is one of the 18 Devi Temples (Ashta Dasha Shakti Peethas). Many have heard the Ashtadasha Shakti Peetha Shloka starting with LANKAAYAAM SHAANKARI DEVI.composed by Sri Adi Shankara which means Shankari in Lanka. This Shloka numbers the list of places of Devi temples which are considered to be part of the 18 Devi Peethas.The original Shankari Devi temple said to be built by Ravana, was the first in the list of AshtaDasha (18) Shakti Pitas written down by Adi Shankara. But its whole cliff was destroyed by Portuguese cannon balls. Only a pillar for commemoration is placed on that spot now. And it is believed that the original idol of the Goddess has been preserved and replaced, being venerated now in this nearby new Shankari Devi temple.

DAY 04 - KANDY

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic 
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or Sri Dalada Maligawa is a Buddhist temple located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country

Sita kotuwa
This place is located at Gurulupotha at the bottom part of 18 hairpin bends this is the place where the city of Lankapura once stood. The city had a beautiful palace for queen Mandothari surrounded by waterfalls, streams and varieties of flora and fauna Sitadevi was kept in queen Mandothari’s palace until she was moved to Sita Kotua and then on to Ashoka Vatika. The remains that are found are the remnants of later civilizations. This place is now called Sita Kotuwa which means ‘Sita’s Fort’ and got its name because of Sitadevi’s stay here, Waterfalls with Limestone caves adds more attraction to this place.

DAY 05 - NUWARA ELIYA

Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple
In the hills of Ramboda where Hanuman was searching for Sita, the Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka built the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple which is visited by thousands of devotees every year. The temple itself is situated about 500m from the main road on a hill having a commanding view of the surrounding area. Legend has it that king Ravana has hid Sita in this area at one time and Hanuman come to this area in search of her. The temple is not too big nor very ornately decorated. The surrounding garden area of the kovil is spotlessly clean and well maintained by the mission. The idol of Hanuman is of black granite and it is carved beautifully and stands tall at 16 feet.

Ramboda Falls
Ramboda Falls is 109m high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya. Altitude of the falls is 945m above sea level. Tea Factory & Tea Plantation

DAY 06 - NUWARA ELIYA

Sita Amman Temple
Located 5 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya. The temple is located in the village of Seetha Eliya. This place is believed the location where Sita, the wife of Rama, was held captive by Ravana, and where she prayed daily for Rama to come and rescue her in the Hindu epic, Ramayana, also because she refused to stay in Ravana’s palace and preferred to stay under the Ashoka tree, hence the name “Ashok Vatika” It was here that Ravana’s wife Mandodari came to meet her and also where Hanuman met her for the first time, and identified himself with the finger ring of Rama There is a stream by the side of the temple. It is believed that Sitadevi bathed in the stream and It is interesting to note that foot prints akin to Lord Hanuman’s are found on the rocks along this river and some are of small size and some are of large size, which indicating the immense power of Lord Hanuman trans forming himself into any size. It is also unique in a way that it is one of the very few temples dedicated to Seetha.

Divurumpola Temple
Divurumpola near Welimada in Sri Lanka’s central highlands is said to be the location where Sita wife of Rama, underwent the famous fire ordeal which is known as” Agni Pariksha” to proof of her purity. When Sita plunged into the sacrificial fire and invoked the fire god Agni as witness of her innocence, Agni arose out of the burning pyre and lifted her from the flames and presented her unharmed to Rama, attesting to her purity. It is a popular place of worship among locals in this area. Divurumpola means place of oath in Sinhala. Divurumpola can be regarded as the second most important Ramayana Yatra site in Sri Lanka.

Moon Plains
One of the best place to have a panoramic view of mountains in Sri Lanka with a different kind of experience to the travelers. The main attraction of Moon Plains is the mini Worlds End at the edge giving a 360 Degree view of the surrounding peaks. Access to Moon Plains is from the Seetha Eliya Farm, which is a 15 minutes’ drive from Spring Acre. From the Farm specially authorized safari jeeps are available for hire to travel the 3 km distance to the Moon Plains viewing point.

DAY 07 - KATHARAGAMA

Kataragamam temple is a Hindu and Buddhist temple complex dedicated to Skanda-Murukan also known as Kataragama deviyo.

Ravana Ella Falls 
It currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country. This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in high and cascade from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. The falls is a part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, and is located 6 km away from Ella Railway station. The falls have been named after the legendary character Ravana, which is connected to the famous Indian epic, the Ramayana. According to legend, it is said that Ravana had kidnapped princess Sita, and had hidden her in the caves behind this waterfall, now simply known as the Ravana Ella Cave. At the time, the cave was surrounded with thick forests in the midst of wilderness. It is also believed that Rama’s queen bathed in a pool that accumulated the water falling from this waterfall.

DAY 08 - BENTOTA

Ussangoda
Due to the Martian look in the ground, it seems like you are on the Mars planet. The history of Ussangda area dates back to Rama-Rawana era after meeting Seetha Devi Lord Hanuman decided to test the strength of the mighty King Ravana and his army of Rakshasas. In the event that unfolded Lord Hanuman’s tail was set on fire by the Rakshasas, who in turn went on to torch some parts of King Ravana’s empire. Ussangoda is one of the torched areas, which is said to have been an airport used by King Ravana to land his big peacock shaped air craft.

Romassala
Rumassala rock is one of the five Sri Lankan spots believed to originate from parts of Mount Dronagiri (Himalayas). They fell down when Hanuman carried the Dronagiri on his flight back to Lanka in order to use its Sanjiwani herb to rescue Lakhshmana and Rama who were in need of this medical plant to be reanimated after suffering severe injuries. Rumassala is also said to be an abode of Sita during her stay in Lanka. it’s a proven fact that the Roomassala sanctuary abounds with a wide variety of herbs of enormous medicinal value, some of which can be found nowhere else in the country. Being declared a sanctuary too underscores the enormous importance of flora and fauna found on this mountain overlooking a cerulean bay along the southern coastal belt.

Anjaneyar Temple
This is the first Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka and also the only Panchamuga (five faced) Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka. It’s the only temple in the world with a chariot for Ajanyear
