Kandy is a major city and a world heritage site in Sri Lanka located in the Central Province. This was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage setup especially for abandoned and injured elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km (8.1 miles) northwest of Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. Its success and fame have travelled not just within the country but throughout the world. Currently being a home to 93 elephants. Pinnawala is notable for having the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. In 2015. Feeding and bathing in the river provide the best opportunities to see Elephants close-up.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or Sri Dalada Maligawa is a Buddhist temple located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country.

Located 5.5 km from the west of the city Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres.
