DAY 01 - Sinharaja
Sinharaja Forest Reserve
Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a national park and a biodiversity hotspot Located within Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces of the south-west lowland wet zone of Sri Lanka. The total area of the Sinharaja Forest Reserve is 18,900 acres or 7,648 hectares and ranges in altitude from 300m to 1,170m.
It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This is the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. More than 60% of the trees are endemic and many of them are considered rare. This treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
The hilly virgin rainforest, part of the Sri Lanka lowland rain forests eco region and was saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility, this was designated as World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988.
Activities
- Meet Infinity Lanka representative at the Airport
- Transfer to Sinharaja Rain Forest 5 hours’ drive approximately
- Late afternoon walk to the tea estate village and arboretum
- Overnight stay at Sinharaja.
DAY 02 - Sinharaja
Activities
- Early morning Bird watching trail – Sinharaja Rain Forest is Home to over 25 endemic species and a myriad of others, Sinharaja is fondly referred to as a bird watcher's paradise
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Rain forest walk - Take a trek through the quaint paths of Sinharaja where placid undergrowth lies in wait for the appreciation of all who wish to indulge in the tranquil wilderness of Sri Lanka's world-renowned rainforest.
- Overnight stay at Sinharaja .
DAY 03 - galle
Galle Fort
Galle is a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, the fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Stone sea walls, expanded by the Dutch, encircle car-free streets with architecture reflecting Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. Notable buildings include the 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the fort’s southeast tip.
Activities
- Breakfast at the Hotel
- Transfer to Galle
- Take a walk inside Galle Fort, built by the Portuguese invaders and occupied by the Dutch. Galle Fort is an interesting piece of history
- This completes the Sri Lanka 03 Days Tour Itinerary (Option-3) with infinity Lanka Tours and depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to the airport directly from Galle. Transfer to Colombo – 2 hours’ drive approximately.
