DAY 01 - Dambulla

Dambulla Cave Temple
Also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country is 72 Km north of Kandy. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. There is a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses.

Minneriya National Park
Being part of the elephant corridor, which joins up with Kaudulla and Wasgomuwa parks, Mineriya National Park gives the opportunity to see herds of Elephants throughout the year it is the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world. During this period herds up to 300 elephants are seen at the 8,890-hectare park. In the afternoon jeep safari through National Park people can also see, deer, peacocks, boars, and many kinds of birds other than Elephants

  • Visit Dambulla the Golden Rock is a cave temple which dates back to the 1st Century .BC
  • Afternoon do a jeep safari at Kaudulla/Minneriya National Park , looking for elephants, deer, peacocks, boars, and many kinds of birds.
  • Overnight at Habarana

DAY 02 - sigiriya & kandy

SIGIRIYA
Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located in the Matale District The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters (660 ft) high. Sigiriya is treated as one of the most remarkable creations in the world, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). Path through the gardens along Stone stairways come to the Lion Gate. Only the rock carving and the brick structure is evident today of the lion’s mouth through which millions of people have walked to admire the beauty of this magnificent citadel.The capital and the royal palace were abandoned after the king’s death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best-preserved examples of ancient urban planning.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or Sri Dalada Maligawa is a Buddhist temple located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country

Activities

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Visit Sigiriya, a 650 feet high rock fortress in the sky, a masterpiece of construction, artistry & irrigation. A world Heritage Site (5 th Century AD).
  • Leave to Kandy and afternoon Visit Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy where Lord Buddha’s Tooth relic is housed, the most venerated city of Sri Lanka
  • Attend Cultural Dance Show in the evening which displays Sri Lankan Arts, Dance & Cultural Heritage

DAY 03 - kandy & pinnawala

Negombo is situated in west coast of Sri Lanka. The wide sandy beaches and the safe sea are the main attractions of Negombo. And it’s in close proximity to the Bandaranaike International Airport. A boat trip winding through the lush mangroves down the Dutch Canal or Muthurajawela Marsh will reward you with sightings of monitor lizards and flocks of migrant birds

Activities

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, with a collection of over 4000 species of exotic plants
  • Transfer to Airport and en route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage setup especially for abandoned and injured elephants notable for having the largest herd of captive elephants in the world in 2015
  • This completes the Sri Lanka 03 Days Tour Itinerary (Option-2) with infinity Lanka Tours and depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to the airport directly from Pinnawala.Transfer to Airport Approx 3.5 Hrs
